Reba received the first-ever NASH Icon Award during the inaugural AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN AWARDS last night on FOX.
Multi-platinum artists Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert honored Reba by performing some of her classic hits and best-known songs LIVE from the AMERICA’S COUNTRY COUNTDOWN AWARDS stage. Longtime friend and radio host Kix Brooks presented Reba with the NASH Icon Award during the live show at Nashville’s Music City Center.
“The NASH Icon Award celebrates an iconic artist who has made a profound and lasting impact on country music, and Reba is the embodiment of such an icon,” said executive producer Mark Bracco. “Her stellar career has influenced generations of artists and fans alike and we’re proud to recognize her accomplishments and her ongoing musical impact.”
“Besides being one of the classiest people to ever grace Nashville, Tennessee, Reba has not just done it her way, but she’s gotten all of her recognition the old fashioned way,” said Kix Brooks. “She’s earned it and I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to tour with her dragging 21 trucks and 19 busses around, and to hear her sing by the campfire. Besides being a talented actor and host, she is seriously one of the best singers I’ve ever heard. Reba sings with her head, her heart and that amazing voice. She’s a treasure Nashville should forever be grateful for…Congratulations Red!”
